Since RideLink provides an insurance for my car, can I cancel my current policy?

In order to qualify for insurance during the rental period, all cars listed on RideLink must have an annual insurance policy in force at all times with at least third party liability.

A car that doesn't have its own insurance can't be driven to a garage for maintenance and may not be in good working order; having an underlying annual insurance policy is one of the checks we do to help validate and ensure the safety of the cars on our platform.

Also, by having your own insurance policy you avoid confusing situations for you, as well as the renter. For example, if the police pull over a renter while they are renting your car, their databases will reflect only if the vehicle has insurance or not. Having your own valid insurance allows the renter to continue his/her journey without interruption or hassle.
